Can I offer a discount for a Google review?
No. Offering incentives for reviews breaches Google's policies and can mislead consumers under the Australian Consumer Law. Ask every customer, make it easy, and let the reviews come naturally.
What is Getinto Software?
Getinto Software is a software and services company for Australian trades and small businesses. We make job management software covering enquiries, quoting, scheduling, invoicing and payments, synced with Xero and MYOB, and we offer done-for-you services: websites, video editing, social media management, lead generation, B2B lead lists and custom software.
Is custom software worth it for a small trade business?
Usually not for the basics. Quoting, scheduling and invoicing are well served by off-the-shelf apps. Custom software is worth it when a specific process, such as complex pricing, client portals or compliance reporting, costs you real hours or lost jobs every week.
Can I start off-the-shelf and add custom later?
Yes, and it's often the best path. Start on the Getinto app, and if you hit a limit we build the custom part on the same platform, so there's no migration.
How long should a tradie's quote be valid for?
Thirty days is common for residential work. When material prices are moving quickly, 14 days is safer. State the validity period on the quote and note that prices may be reviewed after it expires.
Does a tax invoice need the buyer's ABN?
Only for sales of $1,000 or more including GST. For those, the invoice must show the buyer's identity or ABN. For smaller sales, the buyer's details are optional.
Can I charge interest on late invoices?
You can if your quote or contract terms say so and the customer agreed to them. State the interest rate or late fee clearly on the quote and invoice. Without an agreed term, you generally can't add interest unilaterally.
Is 30 days too long for tradie payment terms?
For homeowners, usually yes. Seven days or payment on completion is more common and keeps your cash flow healthy. Thirty days is normal for commercial clients and builders who pay on a monthly cycle.
What markup should tradies use?
There's no single right number. It depends on your overheads and target profit. Work out your target margin first, then convert it to a markup: markup equals margin divided by one minus margin. A 20% margin needs a 25% markup.
Is a SWMS the same as a JSA?
No. A SWMS is a legal requirement for high risk construction work. A Job Safety Analysis is a general risk assessment tool. Some businesses use a JSA for other tasks, but it doesn't replace a SWMS where one is required.
What's the best CRM for a small trade business?
For most small trade businesses, the best CRM is one built into the job management software they already use, so enquiries flow into quotes and jobs without double entry. Look for lead capture, a pipeline view, follow-up reminders and customer history.
How long does it take to switch job management software?
For a small team, about two weeks: a few days to import customers, price lists and open jobs and set up templates, then a week or so of the team using it with support. Sole traders can often switch in a day.
Are there lock-in contracts?
No. Plans are month to month and you can cancel at any time. If you leave, you can export all your customers, jobs, quotes and invoices.
Do prices include GST?
Yes. All prices on this page are in Australian dollars and include GST.
What is job management software for tradies?
Job management software is one app that handles the admin side of a trade business: taking enquiries, quoting, scheduling the crew, tracking time and materials on the job, invoicing and getting paid. Getinto does all of this on a single job record and syncs to Xero or MYOB.
Is Getinto built for Australian businesses?
Yes. Pricing is in Australian dollars, invoices meet ATO tax invoice rules with ABN and GST, it syncs with Xero and MYOB, and it supports SWMS, progress claims and the payment terms Australian trades use.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most businesses are running in about two weeks. We import your customers, price list and open jobs, set up your templates and accounting connection, and train your team. Sole traders are often up and running in a day.
Do you build custom software as well?
Yes. If your business needs something a standard app can't do, like a customer portal, a custom pricing calculator or compliance reporting, we build it on top of the Getinto platform or as a standalone system.
What services does Getinto offer?
Alongside the software, we offer website development, video editing, social media management, lead generation, B2B lead lists and custom software for Australian trades and small businesses. Each service is quoted on a fixed scope and works with or without the app.
Does Getinto work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. The crew app runs on iPhone and Android phones and tablets, and the office uses any web browser on a desktop or laptop. Everything stays in sync in real time.
Can I try it before committing?
Yes. Book a demo and we'll set up a trial account with your own trade and price list, so you can run real quotes and jobs through it before you decide.
Can I use my supplier pricing in quotes?
Yes. Import your price list from a spreadsheet or supplier file, set your markup once, and every quote uses current costs. When supplier prices change you update the list, not every quote.
Do quotes include GST?
Yes. Quotes show prices excluding GST, the GST amount and the total, in line with ATO tax invoice requirements. You can switch the display to GST-inclusive for residential customers.
What happens when a customer accepts a quote?
The quote becomes a job with all the line items, photos and notes carried across. You can schedule it straight away, take a deposit, and later turn it into an invoice without retyping anything.
What does a valid tax invoice need in Australia?
A tax invoice must show the words tax invoice, your business name and ABN, the date, a description of what was supplied, and the GST amount. For sales of $1,000 or more it must also show the buyer's identity or ABN. Getinto fills these in automatically.
Can customers pay by card?
Yes. Each invoice includes a secure payment link for card and digital wallet payments through Stripe or Square. Payments are marked as paid automatically and synced to your accounting software.
Can I send progress claims?
Yes. You can invoice a job in stages, by percentage or by line item, and see the amount claimed and remaining against the original quote at any time.
What is a sales pipeline for a trade business?
A sales pipeline is the list of jobs you're trying to win, grouped by stage: new enquiry, site visit, quoted, follow-up and won or lost. Seeing it in one view shows how much work is coming and which quotes need chasing.
Can leads come in from my website automatically?
Yes. Getinto gives you an enquiry form for your website and an email address to forward enquiries to. Both create leads in your pipeline with the customer's details and the source attached.
Does the app work without phone reception?
Yes. The crew app keeps today's jobs, notes and forms on the phone, so workers can complete checklists and take photos without reception. Everything syncs when the phone reconnects.
Can I attach SWMS to jobs?
Yes. You can attach Safe Work Method Statements and custom checklists to job types, require them to be completed before work starts, and keep a signed record against the job.
How do I track variations on a job?
Create a variation on the job with its price and description, get the client to sign it on your phone or by link, and it's added to the contract value and the next progress claim automatically.
Can I see if a job is making money while it's running?
Yes. Job costing compares labour from timesheets, materials from purchase orders and bills, and subcontractor costs against the quoted budget for each stage, so overruns show up early.
Is the Xero sync two-way?
Yes. Invoices and customers created in Getinto go to Xero, and payments recorded in Xero, such as bank transfers you reconcile there, mark the invoice as paid in Getinto.
Will it mess up my existing accounts?
No. During setup we map Getinto items to your existing chart of accounts and tax codes, and match existing contacts so you don't get duplicates. Your bookkeeper can check the mapping before anything syncs.
How much does custom software cost for a trade business?
It depends on scope. Small integrations and calculators often start in the low thousands, while customer portals and full custom systems are larger projects. We give a fixed-price quote after a discovery session, so you know the cost before work starts.
How long does a custom build take?
Small tools and integrations usually take two to six weeks. Larger systems like customer portals take two to four months. You see working software every fortnight, so you're never waiting until the end to find out if it's right.
Who owns the software and the data?
You own your data at all times and can export it whenever you like. Ownership of custom code is set out in the scope agreement, and we can provide full source code ownership where needed.
How much do your services cost?
Website development starts at $999 as a one-off, hosting at $149 a year, and social media management at $499 a month for Basic or $999 a month for Advanced, with Premium quoted on request. Video editing, lead generation and custom software are quoted on a fixed scope. Ad spend for lead generation is separate and set by you.
How is the software billed?
ERP for everyone is $1,200 a year including GST. If you leave, you can export all your customers, jobs, quotes and invoices.
Is setup included?
Yes. The ERP includes importing your customers and price list, setting up your templates and accounting connection, and training for your team.
Do I need to use the Getinto app to buy a service?
No. Every service works on its own. If you do use the app, we can connect websites, ads and lead lists so enquiries land in your pipeline.
How are services priced?
Each service is quoted on a fixed scope after a short conversation, so you know the price before any work starts. Ongoing services like social media and ads management are monthly.
Can I combine services?
Yes. Many businesses pair a website with lead generation, or video editing with social media management. We'll suggest what makes sense for your goals and budget.
How much does a website cost?
Every site is quoted on a fixed scope, depending on how many pages you need and what it has to do. You get the price in writing before any work starts.
How long does a website take to build?
Most small business sites take a few weeks from the first call to launch. The biggest factor is usually getting your photos and content together, and we help with that.
Will my website show up on Google?
We set up the technical foundations for search properly: fast pages, clear service and location pages, structured data and a sitemap. Rankings also depend on competition, reviews and time, so we won't promise a position, but the site won't hold you back.
Do I need the Getinto app to get a website?
No. The website is a standalone service. If you do use the app, we can connect your enquiry forms to your pipeline.
Do I need a camera crew?
No. Modern phones shoot more than good enough footage for social media. We send a simple shot list so you know what to capture on site.
How much does video editing cost?
It's quoted on a fixed scope, either per batch of videos or as a monthly package. You'll know the price before we start.
Can you use music in the videos?
Yes. We use properly licensed music or the platform's own licensed audio, so your posts don't get muted or taken down.
Which platforms do you manage?
Facebook, Instagram and Google Business Profile, which cover most local customers. We can talk about others like LinkedIn or TikTok if they suit your business.
Do I get to approve posts?
Yes. You see the content calendar before posts go out and can change anything you're not happy with.
Will social media get me more jobs?
It helps people trust you and remember you, and it brings in some direct enquiries. Results vary by trade and area, so we report honestly each month on what it's actually producing.
How much does social media management cost?
It's a monthly package quoted on scope, based on the platforms and how often you want to post. No lock-in beyond the agreed term.
How much should I spend on ads?
It depends on your trade, area and how many jobs you can take on. We'll recommend a starting budget, and you stay in control of it. Our management fee is quoted separately on a fixed scope.
Can you guarantee a number of leads?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. We can promise clear tracking, sensible spending and honest reporting, so you can see exactly what you're getting for your money.
Who owns the ad accounts?
You do. Campaigns run in ad accounts in your business name, so you keep the history and data if you ever move on.
Is web scraping legal in Australia?
Collecting publicly available business information can be lawful, but it depends on the source, the site's terms and what you do with the data. We stick to public business sources, respect site terms and robots rules, and advise on compliant use. For your specific situation, get legal advice.
Can I email everyone on the list?
Not automatically. Under the Spam Act 2003, commercial emails need consent, which can sometimes be inferred when a business has conspicuously published its address and your offer is relevant to its role. Every email must identify you and include an unsubscribe option. We'll help you plan outreach that fits these rules.
What information is on the list?
Business details that are publicly available, such as business name, category, location, website and published business contact details. We don't collect sensitive information or data from behind logins.
Can you guarantee the data is perfect?
No list is perfect, because businesses change details all the time. We clean and de-duplicate carefully and tell you where each record came from, so you can judge it.
What's the best app for plumbers in Australia?
The best app is the one that handles plumbing's mix of emergency callouts, fixed-price jobs and maintenance work without double entry. Look for fast scheduling, kit-based quoting, compliance certificates, card payments on site and a Xero or MYOB sync. Getinto covers all of these.
